I was so shocked and saddened to hear this news. Just last week, we were recounting a story from when Mark (my then boyfriend) came to help me babysit Joe and Christine. He had such a big personality then, and it sounds like that never faded. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Prayers to your family and friends, I did not know Joe personally but heard great things from my friend, Joe’s Godmother, Linda Lurk. An angel in heaven doing God’s plan.

Nancy and Gene I am so sorry to hear of Joe’s death. I am still shocked. Remember the kids swimming in your pool and being a part of Gulf Shores vacation with your family. You are in my thoughts Love Kitty
Our hearts are heavy over this deep loss. Joe joined our family only for a brief time but made his usual big impact. Joe lavished his love and affection on our Betsy making her feel treasured, adored and safe. Joe proclaimed himself the luckiest man in the world on numerous occasions. Betsy and Charlotte were welcomed w open arms by the extended Basler/Drury family. Soon Lucy was added making the Kehlenbrink/Basler circle larger and livelier. Parents remember kindnesses shown their child & for that we are grateful. Prayers for Joe will continue as we know he has joined our departed loved ones, who like him, are anxiously awaiting spring training. Ever the Cardinal fan, Joe will now be seen flying through our woods or on the ball fields or @ the lake and someday we will smile through our tears when we see him.
It is w great sorrow that we have lost our son in law but be assured, he will remain alive always in our hearts and daily lives. All the love our hearts hold. Always and forever and ever.
Dear Gene and Nancy,
We are saddened by your loss and have your family in our prayers.
We are very sorry for your loss. Your entire family is in our prayers.
We cannot even begin to say how sorry we are to hear of Joe’s passing. Our hearts are heavy and hurting for the pain you are feeling and we do feel your pain. Hold on to your love for each other and together you will endure this journey, one day at a time. Our love to you all.

My “SPECIAL FRIEND JOE”! Asking me many times to pray for him, when certain important things came his way and that I did thankfully, cause praying is my favorite pass time. We had a special little friendship and I felt honored to be able to share this friendship with my beautiful daughter in laws brother. Now dear Joe my prayers didn’t pay off the way I said them! Praying through all of your illness and begging the Lord to give you one more chance at life but sadly the answer came through vividly, you know our Lord wanted and needed Joe much more with His plan. So Lord hold Our Joe in your arms for all of us, his family and all the friends that knew him. Joe I will miss our small friendship you allowed us to share but I will always pray to you, that’s a promise my dear friend. ✝️♀️❤️
