Passed away in her sleep on December 8, 2021 in Webster Groves, MO at the beautiful age of 91. Born in Hidalgo, Mexico in 1930, she was one of 16 children. She was preceded in death by her husband Adolfo Poblete. Amalia is survived by her four children (Alejandrina Poblete, Adolfo Poblette, Francisco [Susana] Poblete, and Ana Julien), four grandchildren (Nina [Ryan] Hageness, Jazmine Poblette, Amalia Julien and Halsey Julien), and three great-grandchildren (Marissa Espinoza, Fernando Espinoza, and Hannah Hageness).

Amalia was an extraordinary woman with a determined spirit. Her strong-will and tenacity led her to find a way and a solution, even when nobody else could see it. She was humble, generous, hard-working, faithful and witty. Everyone she met had an instant connection with her. She may not have had a formal career, but the way she successfully balanced many jobs, raising children, providing for her family and keeping a home with modest means, inspired those around her to push through when times get tough.

She’s best remembered for her smile, her funny antics like “photoshopping” her photos, directing where everyone should be sitting at events, and making the most memorable and incredible home cooked meals.  She leaves a legacy and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Visitation will be at the Kutis Funeral Home – Affton Chapel in St. Louis, MO on Saturday, December 11, 2021 between 2 PM – 8 PM. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
