Passed away on October 28, 2021. He was the husband of Rosemarie (Arnold) and loving son of the late Angel and Rogelia (Yglesias) Garcia. Loving nephew of the late Anita Alvarez (Yglesias). He was born on December 30, 1933 in East St. Louis. Dearest father of Rick (the late Ernie), Steven (Melanie), Tony (Julie), David (Mary), Tina Arras (Jim), Dani Garcia Codina (Charlie) and Kerry. Loving stepfather to Dawn Meyer (Steve) and Lisa Meyers (Larry). Brother of the late Robert (Carol) and Eugene (Muriel). Loving grandpa to Scott (Irena) Meyer. Loving Popo to Alexandra Meyers, Claire Meyers, Austin Garcia, Serafina Garcia, Anna Garcia, Emma Garcia, Dominic Arras, Charlie Codina and Louie Codina. Loving great-grandfather to Juliette Meyer. Dear brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend.
Rich was an avid baseball and soccer fan. He loved to sing and had a great sense of humor. His most joyous times were spent with his grandchildren. He served as President of the Spanish Society, and one of his fondest memories was a trip to Spain with Rosemarie and 12 of their friends. He will be in our hearts forever.
Services; Visitation at Kutis South County (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Monday 11/15 from 10AM until service at 1PM. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
