Cassity, Detective Bret D., STLPD Passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the age of 46.

Bret served on the police force for over 21 years and did so because he believed “Some people have to help and watch over everyone”. His gift of courage from the Good Lord made that his calling. Bret had a passion for music, the lake life, his family and his friends. His greatest passion was for his wife Jennifer.

Beloved husband of Jennifer L.  Cassity (nee Benson); dearest son of Darrel Cassity and Diane (Paul  Lewellyn) Chadwick; dear brother of Matthew Cassity and the late Justin (survived by Catie) Cassity; dear   son-in-law of Tim (Robin) Benson and GayAnn (Gary) Range; dear brother-in-law of Trisha (Mike) Smith; dear uncle of Ean Cassity and

Chelsea Smith; dear Godfather of Mary and Allie Kate Wilson; dear nephew, cousin and friend.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Saturday, April 30, 10:00 a.m. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery (Edwardsville, IL). In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Backstoppers,  10411 Clayton Rd., St. Louis, MO 63131 or contributions to assist with Bret’s medical expenses (deposits can be made at Eagle Bank & Trust) appreciated.
