Services: Visitation at the Sarah Community 12284 DePaul Dr. on Tuesday October 5, from 2:30 till 3:30 PM. Then visitation at the Theresa Center (Notre Dame Motherhouse, 320 E. Ripa Ave, 63125) Wednesday October 6, from 10:30 a.m. until liturgy at 11:15. Interment Motherhouse Cemetery. Seating is very limited. KUTIS CITY SERVICE
I visited Sister at DePaul a while back and we had a lovely chat from all those years ago in the late ‘60’s. It was such a joy to see her and share those moments and her memories. We chatted about what a stinker I was in those days, but never did I get in trouble that I didn’t richly deserve. She was a true jewel who I have thought fondly about more times over the years than I can count. She has been and will continue to be missed. May God have mercy on her soul. I will continue to pray for the repose of her soul.
I wish that I would have seen this in time to attend. She was a pivotal person in my life. I know that a lot of the girls at Our Lady of Loretto had some issues with her. Meeting with her several times a few years back, when she was blind and realizing that she was a woman of small stature, she had a very large impact on my life. She admitted to me that she was partial to the boys. She was certainly flawed, but she was so interesting. She was smart and loved math. She was adopted and even though I thought she was of Hispanic origin, her birth father or mother was actually Italian. She always picked on me in the 6th grade
: “I am going to make spaghetti out of Baldetti with a machete.” She was the single most important person in getting me to move from 6-2 to 6-1 in a the space of a year. Oh yeah you folks from Loretto may remember that we were segregated as the smart and not so smart. She was probably a little too liberal for my liking today, being a product of all the commotion following Vatican 2. But she honored her vocation to the end. I hope that she is at the heavenly banquet, even if she has a short detour in purgatory. Probably shorter than my likely stay. God rest her soul
Iified was terrified of Sister Regina Marie but she had and still has my deepest respect. Fond memories abide. I will never forget her really giving a boy in our class heck for not having his homework until he broke down crying because the tornado had taken it & his home the night before… She was for the first time I can remember – speechless. “Andele’ Andele’ Pronto!”
