Beloved husband for 52 years of Patricia Husman (nee Wiesemeyer); loving father of Frederick William (Tammy) Husman, II, Eric (Kimberley) Husman and Tara Lynn (Tom) Turner; dear grandfather of Trevor, Taylor and Zac Husman, Grant, Ashlin and Payton Husman, Victoria and Ava Turner.
Mr. Husman was commissioned September 17, 1967 to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and retired on July 17, 2003 as a specialist 5th Class. On January 1, 1969 he received an EPD Award (Exceptional Performance of Duty) for Police work above and beyond the call of duty. He served in the US Army (Nov. 1, 1963-Oct 1, 1966) stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the 3rd Infantry and the Davey Crockett Unit.
Services: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Road 63123 on Thursday September 16 from 4-7 pm. A celebration of life will begin with sharing of remembrances at 5:00 PM, followed by military honors with visitation until 7:00 PM. Memorials to Missouri Department of Conservation appreciated.

Fred was an in-law. Patty is one of many cousins since the Wiesemeyer clan was so large. Fred didn’t know a stranger. Fred talked to everyone and had some great stories. I know he was Patty’s rock. Fred will be greatly missed.
Fred was my beloved uncle, and my memory of him goes back to my first years of life. I can remember him teasing me when I was just a kid – he was my big kid uncle, just 14 years older than I was; he was like a big brother. I remember how my Grandmother cried when he was away in the Army – she missed him so much, and I listened to so many stories she told me about him so that by the time he returned I was a little in awe of the adult he had become. I remember how he sent my sisters and me such wonderful presents from Germany, how he would show up for a fun filled visit at our house (Fred was always a fun person with a silly sense of humor), and I remember how one day he showed up at our house with his new girlfriend, Patty – from exotic Illinois, who soon was to become our beloved aunt. I remember the birth of their children – “little” Fred, Eric, and Tara, and I remember how devoted he and Patty were to these three children.
Throughout my life, my comings and goings, I always remember visiting with Fred and Patty, and I remember how much the two of them welcomed me to their home, and when I got married and my kids were born, he always included my family, joked with them and teased them in his friendly way, and let them know they were welcome members of the family.
He always had a joke, was always offering you food, teasing (one of his favorite gags was to look down below your head and say “what’s that?” I would always look down and he would always give me a friendly little bop on the chin, and I always fell for the same gag.) He was always good humored, he loved his animals with a passion – especially horses and dogs, and he always made a person feel welcome.
As my mother said, he was as big as life, a family member we all loved, someone who we never thought we would be without. We will miss him terribly. With our deepest love.

I really enjoyed talking to Fred when all the remaining family gathered for reunions. I was amazed at his life’s work, especially the years in the St Louis police department. I know Patty and his kids/grandkids will miss him terribly. Rest in peace, Fred. You were truly special!
Fred and I served in the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam War in the 3rd Infantry Div. and in the Davy Crockett nuclear unit. He was a terrific guy with a great sense of pride, honor and duty. Also a very sincere man with a wonderful sense of humor. We have remained friends for over 55 years since our Army days. I was blessed to have chatted with him about a week before he passed on to eternal life. My wife Karen and I send our heartfelt condolences to Patty his children, grandkids and extended family. Fred was one in a million and will be remembered and missed for many years ahead. God Bless you, Fred, and put in a good word for us who remain on Earth….Joe O’k

I wish I would have had the opportunity to know Fred better. He spent his entire working life protecting this country and then St. Louis, putting his life on the line everyday. That is a true patriot!

I will never forget Fred and the great times we had working in the mounted patrol. Great cop, friend and family man. Sincere sadness and condolences to the family.
I am so sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. Fred and I rode together occasionally in the Third District, what a great guy!! Years later, we later worked together in the Second District and Fred walked a foot beat in the area of Hampton Village. All of the businesses loved him and enjoyed his stories of being assigned to the Mounted Patrol Division.
