Born July 4, 1932 in Shreveport, Louisiana Died April 20, 2016 in St. Louis, Missouri Passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 20, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ann and William Brown, husband, William A. Miller and one sibling, Margaret Brown Hagan, and brother in law James Hagan. She is survived by her three children: William D. Miller (wife Debbie) of Plano, Texas; Peggy Rodgers of St. Louis, and Laura Rossi (husband Ceasar) of St. Louis, Missouri. Other surviving family members include: Brother Ralph Brown (wife Jean) and sister Sherrie Ryan all of Shreveport, Louisiana. Surviving Grandchildren: Michael Miller and Katie Miller of Plano, Texas; Eva Rudolph (husband Sam) of Imperial, Missouri; Amelia Rodgers of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Jackson Rodgers of the world; Abigail Miller Jansen (husband Trent) of Effingham, Illinois; Julianne Rossi, of St. Louis. Great Grandmother of Jade Miller, of Plano Texas. Loving Aunt, great Aunt, cousin and friend.
A devoted mother, Frances raised her three children proudly but included both family and friends in her warm embrace. She shared the good and bad times with those she loved, and whether in Keokuk, Iowa or London, England she would proudly tell anyone about her family and their accomplishments. Her career was raising her family, but she was also a pioneer of the pre digital word processing world as a Veri-Type specialist. Her work includes constructing the physical menu for the famous: “Stan and Biggie’s Restaurant”. From ceramics to macramé, sewing, painting, or floral arrangements, there was one thing she knew: was “style”. She was lifelong bowler and avid golfer-on links or playing putt-putt with the grandkids. She was a card aficionado, bunko and farkle player; no matter the game she wanted to play! Appropriately, Fran (as she was known by her friends and family) was born on the Fourth of July and claimed the fireworks were to celebrate her. She loved gatherings with friends and family, having a good time, and loved everyone. Her passion, enthusiasm and sense of humor will be sorely missed; thanks for making everything memorable.
