Spencer, Michael T. passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
Beloved husband of Carol “Carrie” Spencer (nee Gruenenfelder) of 24 years; dearest father of Jennifer (Greg) Bailey and Melissa (Bucky) Morrow; step-father of Tony (Raechal) and Joe (Kristen) Catalano; dear grandfather of Kaylynn, Gavin, Spencer, Jasper, Anthony, James, Carmen, Rosa, Joseph and Sophia; son of the late Dorothy Spencer; brother of Mark Spencer, the late Carol (James) Beckermann and Nancy Mann; our dear brother-in-law, uncle and friend of many.
Michael was a proud member of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for 20 years; He loved all sports and politics.
Memorial visitation on Saturday, August 21, 2:00 p.m. until memorial service 3:30 p.m. at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Backstoppers, Inc. or United Cerebral Palsy Association.
Our condolences to you all. We won’t be able to make it as we will be having my dad’s memorial at the same time.
I was lucky enough to work with Mike and to call him my friend for many years. I will always remember his ability to make me laugh. One of my fondest memories will always be him leading our weekly little trivia group at work. RIP my friend…you will be greatly missed by so many ❤️

My sincere condolences to Mike’s family. I grew up in the same neighborhood as Mike. We played sandlot baseball at Windsor Park together. He was a star athlete in grade school and high school where he also played football. We also both joined the PD around the same time. I also remember his little sister was always walking around on her toes like a bailarina. Rest In Peace Mike.

My condolences to Mike’s family. Mike was one of my best friends growing up. He was one of the best athletes I knew. So many, many memories. We sort of lost touch over the years, but I will never forget him.
I grew up with Mike in North St. Louis…Lived down the Street on Newhouse from his Family…Also Graduated From Clay Grade School with him in 1965…We then went on to Central HS…So saddened to hear of his passing…Mike was always a great guy…I was proud to have known him…

Just found out today…was stunned to hear of Mikes passing. He was my best man at my wedding. A lot of funny times with him and others in the old neighborhood, Good memories!
My sincerest condolences, Carrie. Mike was a great guy and taught me much! I don’t know that he knew I looked up to him! He always solved those crossword puzzles, though! He’ll be missed. I’ll have a toast for him and say a little prayer for him. I think he’d like that!
