Harold Vern Maurer, age 91, Fortified in the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, Thursday August 12, 2021. Harold was born on September 21, 1929, in Annapolis, MO.  He was a very hard worker and times he worked three jobs.  He served in the Missouri Air National Guard for over 33 years.  He was a member of St. Bernadette’s Church where was actively involved and a regular church goer.  Harold enjoyed spending time with his friends after church for breakfast and fellowship.  He served as president of the 50th plus club where he loved to plan events and share good times with his peers.  He was also a member of the military 20 plus club at Jefferson Barracks where he met and played poker with many other long time veterans.  Harold was happily married 50 years to Mary Ellen Maurer who proceeded Harold in death along with his brother Paul Maurer, and daughter Jane Maurer.

Harold loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He will always be remembered telling stories of his childhood, family trips, bragging about his children and grandchildren, and reliving many other family adventures over and over again.  His surviving family members include the following: His children, Tom Maurer, Art (Tammy) Maurer, Sue (Doug Schuetz) Morton, Joe (Gladys) Maurer, Robert (Donna) Maurer, Mike Maurer, and Jim Maurer.  He is also survived by grandchildren, Stacey (Gary) Stubits, Stephen Maurer,  Jacob Maurer, Rachel Maurer, Mathew (Julie Schell ) Maurer, Jenifer Hynes, Jimmy (Amber) Hynes, Katie (Michael) Allinder, Amy Maurer, Eric Maurer. Great-grandchildren Gary, Hope, Sophia, Skylar, Maximus, and Easton. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Art and Liz Seise, He was a loving Uncle and friend to all.

Funeral from Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. Tuesday August 17, 10:00 am to St. Bernadette Church for 10:30 am Mass. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Bernadette St Vincent de Paul Society appreciated. Visitation Monday 4-8 pm.
