Keith, James E., age 77, Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Beloved husband of Beverly Keith (nee: Bullis) for 48 years; dearest father of Jeff (Becky) Theis, Heather (David) Crosby, Holly (Shane) Coats, and the late Jimmy Jr.; loving grandfather of Parker (Josie) Theis, Tristan and Canyon Conrad, Ashley (Sean) Sawyer, Emily (Matt) Hauser, Ryan and Jordan Crosby and Hunter James Coats; like a Grandpa to David Dunaway; great-grandfather of 4; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.
James was a member of American Legion Post 283 and Arnold VFW Post 2593.
Services: Funeral at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Monday, June 28, at 10 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Toys For Tots appreciated. Visitation Sunday 2-6 p.m.
We love and will miss you, but are so happy you’re at peace and pain free. Memories will continue to live on and we are so grateful for the time we were blessed to have had with you. Many happy years, just wish we had more, but God’s will, not ours. He had bigger plans …Love you more.

Mr. Keith was a great man, and I feel privileged and blessed to have gotten to know him. He was always willing to help out anyone around him, and I am sorry for the loss of his passing. We know he is at rest with our Heavenly Father, and I pray His Spirit and presence be with you as you mourn. This world was better because of Mr. Keith. God’s light shone through him.
Jim was a great man. From the practical jokes to his wonderful and sometimes warped sense of humor, Jim always kept you laughing. I worked with him at JCP West County and where his role in Loss Prevention he always took very seriously. My condolences to the Keith family!
Absent from the body, present with the Lord. Jim was a loving father to his children and his bond with his grandchildren was a joy to watch.
Heather, you have my deepest sympathy for the loss of Jim. No more pain or sorrow. Jesus said, I am the bread of life, even when you die you will live if you believe. Your daddy is in the loving arms of Jesus. Baby girl, you will see your daddy again.
Jim was part of the recovery team at El Toro MCAS in Irvine, CA for the 12 Airmen and 72 Marines killed in a plane crash shortly after takeoff on June 25, 1965. My father was on that flight and that is how Jim and I got introduced, first by email and then in person at the 50th Anniversary Site Visit and Memorial Dedication in June of 2015. He was an invaluable source of information to help get the Memorial going. He was with our families at the site visit and answered so many questions we had. I know he suffered nightmares from the trauma he encountered that dreadful day. I am so glad those nightmares are over for him. May you RIP. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and our gratitude will always be in our hearts.

Many a road trip together I lost count of how many comedy shows we’ve done. You’ll be dearly missed you were class act my friend and a great person.
With a heavy heart I write that will be greatly missed, never did I see you that both of us didnt have smiles on our face. You said that God put you here to make those around you laugh, You served God very well bringing that laughter to all that had the joy of meeting you. My condolences to Jim’s family. Jim was my third cousin, and we enjoyed sharing stories about our ancestors. I was saddened by the news of his passing. He made the world a better place. We made a donation to Toys for Tots in his memory.
