Tracy Carol (Lyston) Wetteroff died on January 26, 2021. She was born in St. Louis on July 22, 1970 to parents Edgar and Carole Lyston and married Robert Wetteroff on October 14, 1995.

Tracy was a devoted daughter, sister to Keith Lyston (of Chesterfield) and aunt to Abigail, Sophia, Jacob and Samantha. She is survived by a loving extended family and treasured friends.

Tracy attended Affton and Lindbergh schools graduating in the top 10 percent of her class from Lindbergh High School. She was part of the cross-country team, earned the Girl Scout Gold Award and represented the State of Missouri in a nation-wide event celebrating the 200th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at Saint Louis University (magna cum laude) and Certificate in Paralegal Studies from the American Institute for Paralegal Studies. Tracy worked most recently as a corporate paralegal for Spencer Fane LLP and previously, at Stinson LLP.
Tracy lived with cancer for 22 plus years she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998 and 2007 and then Stage IV primary peritoneal cancer in 2015. Through the years she endured 13 surgeries, 37 chemotherapy treatments and over 75 days of radiation, not to mention countless tests, scans and doctor appointments. As a survivor, Tracy was a pillar of strength and courage and served as a role model for her friends and co-workers. Through the years she “gave back” by participating in awareness and fundraising events as well as serving on an institutional review board and reviewing research proposals to award grant money. She was frequently called upon as “the source” in cancer to help counsel new cancer patients. As the recipient of kind words, appreciate hugs, and a multitude of thank you cards over the years, Tracy had the satisfaction of knowing she made a difference in people’s lives.

Each time she passed a cancer milestone she thought of a creative new license plate to mark the occasion. Perhaps you saw her car around town? Through the years Tracy changed her license plate from that of SUR5N, to 2X-C5R, to ENUFF, and finally IV-WARD.
The family would especially like to thank “Team Tracy”, “breast friends” and “food fairies” for their support and care during Tracy’s numerous rounds of chemotherapy treatments and suggest that donations be made to Siteman Cancer Center for its Young Women’s Breast Cancer Program.

Lastly, Tracy was an avid shopper and was frequently “accused” of always finding the perfect gifts. “There are those that give with joy, and that joy is their reward.” By Kahlil Gibran
