Passed away on Friday, September 18,2020. Beloved husband of 72 years to Eileen Mack (nee Schmieder); loving father of Charles (Marg) Mack, Kathy Gregory, and Diane (the late Howard) Erlanger; dear grandfather of Marty, Jodi, Corey, Bryan, Kurt, and Marc; dear great-grandfather of 8, dear brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend.
Thank you dad for your service in WWII and Korea. Once a Marine, always a marine.
SERVICES: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd., Tuesday, September 22, 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment J.B. National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans.
Dearest Uncle Charlie, you will so be missed. I have so many fond memories of my talented Uncle that I will cherish forever.

Charlie, even though I have only seen you let’s say maybe 7 or 8 times over the last 70 or so years … ever so often I remember you whistling that 2 blocks you walked after getting off the Cherokee bus when you were in your teens. I used to run to our house, where you lived upstairs from us (McLafferty Family) to say Hi. You were liked so much by our family. You always were kind, pleasant and fun to talk to. I know you will be greatly missed by everyone who ever knew you!
My condolences on the passing of Charles Mack. Although I did not know him, when I saw the obituary in the Post Dispatch, I wanted to write to you because I lived in a house in Lafayette Square built in 1878 by Charles J. Mack and wondered if there is any connection. He was born in Switzerland in about 1845 and lived in this home until the 1930’s at the age of 87. He raised 5 children whose names were Ida Mack Guels, Oscar, Walter, Arthur & Hilda Mack. Hilda Mack lived there until the 1960’s and then I lived there until 2018. Three other relatives that may have a connection to you are Edith Mayer, Charlotte Dornhaeffner and Roxanne Rossi. You may email me if you have an interest. Again, my sympathies.
