Gassaway, Judith A. (nee Kohm) was born on July 27, 1947 in Kansas City, Mo. At age 2, she was adopted by Bernice and Oliver Kohm. She attended Fairview High School where she was active in many school activities. After graduating at age16, she attended Southeast Missouri State University and graduated in 3 1/2 years with an Associate’s degree in Data Processing and a B.S. in Business Administration. While at SEMO she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
While at SEMO, she met her husband Bill Gassaway and they were married in June of 1968.She was employed by the Post-Dispatch as a programmer in their Data Processing from 1969 to 1976. In 1976 she left the Post to adopt a son Scott. In 1978 she returned to work for General American/MetLife in their IT department and retired from there in 2003, In 2005 her and her husband bill, moved to Ft. Myers, Florida where they enjoyed traveling, boating, shelling, fishing, and attending Cardinals Spring Training Games. She was a true Cardinals fan. She served on the Water’s Edge HOA Board and was President of the Veridian HOA Board. She is survived by her husband Bill, son Scott and cousins.

Dear Bill,
It has been so long since we spent time with you and Judee. But in the days that we were younger and closer friends, we made some great memories. We have kept up with you two through the Potts’ over the years, knowing the last years have been quite a struggle for Judee and you. We hope you know that you have been in our thoughts and prayers along the way and especially prayers for you now. My condolences to Bill and Scott. I met Judee in 1981 when I joined General American. She was always supportive of pursuing my education without compromising family, work, and friendss. Rest in peace, Judee.
I worked with Judee for about 4 years at GALIC. We were friends though lost touch when I married and moved to Rolla switching jobs. I remember her with fondness. I am very sad for your loss.

My sincere sympathy to you. I remember Judee being such a smart, thoughtful sister when we were in college & then when we met again in the last several years she hadn’t changed. She was so welcoming with her sweet smile & laughter. How sad that she had to suffer. I know you have so many wonderful memories of your travels and life together. May they bring you comfort.
