Walsh, John R.-

Beloved husband of the late  Barbara J. Walsh (nee Ohmer); dear father of Jack (Robin), James  (Wendy) Walsh and Patricia (Tony) Marshall; dear grandfather of J.  Robert, Kathleen W., Daniel E.,  Christopher P. Walsh and Jaime A. Marshall; dear brother of James F. (Margaret) Walsh; dear uncle of John J. and Susan M. Walsh.

Mr. Walsh started life on Marcus Ave. on the Northside. He graduated from SLUH (’47) and SLU (B.A., J.D. ’53), and served in the USAF in the JAG Corp at Craig AFB in Selma, AL.

He practiced law and became claims manager for Western Casualty (American States Ins.).

With his wife Barbara, he enjoyed traveling and visited the “old sod” in Ireland more than once. He was also an active member at St. Martin of Tours Parish for the last 50 years.

John was devoted to his children and grandchildren attending all of their events. He enjoyed life, a good Manhattan, and a “big sodie”.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd., Monday, December 28, 10:15 a.m. with Mass celebrated at St. Anselm Catholic Church (Mason Rd at The Priory) 11:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials to St. Martin of Tours St. Vincent Depaul Society appreciated. Visitation Sunday, 3-7 p.m.
