Virginia Dahmer, 96, of St Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 05, 2019. Virginia was born to Russell J. Pruess, and Marie (Hirlinger) Pruess, January 27, 1923 in St Louis, Missouri.

Early Life: Virginia’s mother passed away when she was nine and her sister Marilyn was two. However, a few years later her father remarried Allene (Mullins) Souders who had two children of her own, LaVonne “Vonnie”(Souders) Graham, and Roger Souders. They became a family and lived together on Connecticut St. in St. Louis near Tower Grove park where they shared many adventures and memorable times.

Virginia graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1941. She married Warren H Dahmer in 1942. They lived together in New Jersey during the war, where Warren served; and after the war returned to St Louis. Virginia worked as a secretary for a time but her great joy was being a home maker and especially a mother. They moved to Crestwood in 1960, where they raised their family. She was active in her church, loved bowling and was part of the Lindbergh womens league for many years. Virginia also enjoyed co-leading the senior exercise class at White Cliff park in Crestwood, MO for many years. Her always positive attitude made her a pleasure to be around. She lit up any room she walked into with her beautiful, bright smile. She adored her family and she will be deeply missed!

Virginia is survived by her 2 children: Russell (Marjorie) Dahmer, and Donna (Larry) Mueller, her sister Marilyn Walsh, 4 granddaughters, Katelyn “Katy” (Brian) McKown, Emily (Adam) Nickel, Tara Mueller, and Clara Dahmer as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, sister Vonnie, brother Roger, and husband Warren.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON Chapel, 10151 Gravois, on Friday, May 10 from 10 a.m. until funeral service time at 11 a.m. Interment at Sunset Cemetery.
