Jacqueline, the oldest of eleven children, was born in Kansas City, MO on April 5, 1929 to Cyrilla M. Tellman and Frank H. Tellman (both deceased). She is survived by four brothers Don, Roger, Michael and Russell Tellman, and two sisters Wanita Bublis and Loretta “Candy” Colvin. She is preceded in death by sisters Bonnie Newmann and Mary Ellen Tellman, and brothers Charles and Paul Tellman.

Jacqueline graduated valedictorian from Eugene High School in 1947. She began five years of teaching grades 1 through 8 in a one room school house in Osage Bend, MO, while taking correspondence courses and spending her summers at Central Missouri State Teacher’s College in Warrensburg. She moved to St. Louis in 1952 and the following year married Roy at Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church in Mary’s Home, MO. She also attended Webster College and Harris Teacher’s College in St. Louis. For seven years, she taught remedial reading at St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Crestwood and was a substitute teacher at Seven Holy Founders in Affton. She was an officer on the St. Elizabeth School Board, and served in various positions with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. After raising her children, Jacqueline worked in the sales and trade show businesses, and helped to produce the first Mrs. Missouri pageant. In 1990, she began working part time for the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission and volunteered as a docent at the historic Thomas Sappington House in Crestwood. Jacqueline loved playing and watching tennis, served as President of Crestwood Women’s Tennis League, and traveled to England for the Wimbledon tournament several times. Her family will remember her for the beautifully decorated cakes she made for all of our birthdays and other special occasions. She always knew how to make others feel special. Jacqueline had a passion for reading, learning, and travel.  She never met a stranger, took a genuine interest in the people she met along the way, and stayed in touch with everyone she knew.
