66, of Independence, MO, born Sept. 1, 1952, in St. Louis, MO, fell asleep in Jesus on Sept. 22, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents George F. and Marie (Bertram) Hertlein; siblings, Janice (Hertlein) Springer and Frederick Hertlein; brother-in-law, James Schweer. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Laura (Wilson) Hertlein; children, Reva M., Rachel (Jesse) Burant, and George R.; family, Judith (Norman) Walters, Rudi (Debbie) Hertlein, Gina Schweer, Rev. Martin Springer, Karon Hertlein, Paul (Carolyn) Bertram, Reva Wilson, Russell (Linda) Wilson, and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Boys Town at boystown.org to help a child in need.
Services: Funeral Friday, Sept 28, 2018, at 8:30 a.m. meet at Kutis Affton Funeral Home (10151 Gravois, St. Louis) for procession at 9:00 a.m. escorted by Patriot Guard to Jefferson Barracks Chapel (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis). Visitation at Christ Memorial Church (5252 S Lindbergh Blvd, St. Louis) at 11:00 a.m., service at 12:00 p.m., followed by light reception at church.
