He was preceded in death by one step son John Dean and will be missed by his many cousins and loved ones. He served in the military for 11 years, retired from Emerson Electric, and also St. Charles County department of corrections.

He loved his church, the church he attended many years. He loved to go with his pastor, Reverend Joseph C. Prance to New Life Evangelistic center on Thursday nights. He became known as the puppet man because he did a program with his puppet Melvis the Elvis impersonator. Melvis was always all prayed up instead of all shook up. Jim worked with his church for many years in serving in the homeless ministry. He worked as a church deacon and also a Sunday School super attendant. He worked with his wife Faye in the childrens church ministry with black light puppets. He helped her create vacation Bible school programs. He also took care of the church flowers from Spring to Fall.

In 2020 He was diagnosed with Stomach Cancer and had to retire from the ministry because of his many health issues. He was very Witty and knowing how tough it would be to battle the cancer and other health issues he helped plan his funeral. He went to make arrangements and he asked the director if he could try out his casket to see if it would fit. He always had a sense of humor and made people laugh. You knew his good days and bad days because if he felt good he would joke a lot. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family.
