Patricia Shatto born in Cairo, IL and resided in St. Louis, MO took her journey to heaven on July 14th, 2020 at the age of 69.
Pat is survived by her daughter Stacey Gualdoni (Vinny Gualdoni), her granddaughter Mila Gualdoni and loving significant other Roland Flynn. Step-mother Marguerite Shatto, Brothers, Gary Shatto, Tim Shatto (Becky Shatto), Matt Shatto (Kim Shatto), Pete Shatto (Tracy Shatto), Aunt, Cousin and great friend to many.
Preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Shatto.
Pat loved traveling the world, cooking, bowling, taking care of others, gardening and every dog that crossed her path. Even the neighbor dogs would stop in for treats on a daily basis. She was a brave, gentle, generous and caring soul who we will miss greatly until we meet again.
Please don’t wear black, she wouldn’t want that, we will be celebrating her life. In Lieu of flowers, please send donations to Pink Ribbon Girls – https://www.pinkribbongirls.org/donate they helped her so much throughout her battle with cancer, they are a nonprofit organization that helps patients and families through some of the most difficult times.
Celebration of life will be held at Kutis Funeral Home located at 10151 Gravois on Sunday, July 19, 2020. Visitation will be from 2-5 open to the public. Service to follow for immediate family.

I have so many wonderful memories of my Aunt Pat. Just to mention a few… “Aunt Pat potatoes” for holiday gatherings, how she taught me to hard boil Perfect eggs every time, and how she supported me and my small business – which meant so much to me. She would buy candles or jewelry (even if she didn’t need them) because she knew it was helping my family and that is just the kind of person she was. Good. Generous. Caring. Loving. Kind. I will miss her and I am praying for you all. RIP Aunt Pat – I love you ❤️

Pat was such a nice person. I remember her always being so nice when she would visit us at the Haven. And Roland who I got to see every week.
I remember that we both shared a love for dogs. She will be missed.

My deepest sympathies to Stacey and her family Pat was one of the most wonderful Person that I had the opportunity of knowing for years. I always look forward to her hair appointment because I knew it would be a relaxing two hours of conversation, laughter and talking about the future plans. She was one of a kind and I was lucky enough to know her.
Losing your mom is so hard because they are always the strong one. I know you have so many great memories of your mom seems like you and her did do much together. Hold those memories close to your heart , know one can be ver take that from you. I did not know her but she seemed like a wonderful lady. God will take good care of her, hold her close to his heart. My niece is married to Pat’s brother Pete. I never saw her a lot but when I did she was as sweet as she could be. It was like she knew me for years. Sorry for your loss.

When Louise Tepfer Neeley told me months ago that Patty had serious problems with cancer I was sad and scared. I was sad that another long-time friend was now a short-timer. I was scared that a long ago prediction might arrive. It was 1967 at the N.E. corner of McCausland Ave. and Dale Ave. in St Louis. We were all in Mrs. Julia Tepfers kitchen on the 1st. floor. It was late at night, too late for a bunch of misfit teenagers to be up. There was a reason we were all there, the love and acceptance we found in that apartment was not available in our natal homes. Mrs. Tepfer was a surrogate mom to about 20-30 friends of her children and 20-30 more who were drawn by the ”good vibes” of everyone coming and going. there was a” Quija board ” in the center of the kitchen table that night. Louise, Patty, and myself and others who seem fuzzy to me now, were there. I know it’s just a superstitious game, but the way it moves is spooky. I asked the question – ”how will I die ?” The stylus started to move, there were at least 4 separate peoples hands on it including Pattys’. All of us exclaimed ”are you moving it?” Everyone said ”no, are you?” The stylus spelled a sentence- [edited version] – ”Peter will die with Patty.” It’s been about 53 years since that night, since then I always thought I would die in a motorcycle wreck, with as many close calls and ambulance rides as i’ve had over the years. I emotionally bonded with many great people I met in that kitchen. Patty worked at the Esquire Theater, along with Louise and many more people I was close to. I was the first one of us to work there. I was tired of being at the Esquire on Fri. And Sat. nights while my friends were galavanting around St. Louis. I started encouraging my friends to work there, so inside of a year many of my closest pals had jobs there too. There are many stories to tell about all the fun we had working there. It was great, go to a place where all your closest friends were hanging out, AND get paid money. Patty was one of the people i bonded with, and she would send me into hysterical laughter when she would look at me with an expressionless face, and close one eye without any other facial ques. It was like she had a broken doll head with one eye closed. I’ve missed Patty for a long time, as I now live in Oklahoma city. What a great lady.
AS I SAID BEFORE, THERE NO WORDS BIG ENOUGH TO EXPRESS CONDOLENCE FOR TOU STACEY,YOU ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE HAD A MOTHER WHO WAS A FRIEND AS WELL AS MOTHER . I am so sorry to hear of Patty’s passing. My condolences to Stacey and family. Patty and I met as teenagers and have been good friends all these years. I have many fond memories of Patty. Many good times in Missouri throughout the years, and I will never forget our adventures in California as mere teens. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
Brilliance, compassion, and grace! That’s how I remember Patty. Plus she was a TERRIFIC bowler…kicked my butt on a regular basis. Every one of my friends LOVED Patty, as I and my family did. Rest In Peace! Love and hugs!
