Dearest husband of Bonnie Seifried; dear father of Joan Elizabeth (John) Stewart, Paul (Melissa) Seifried, David (Mette) Seifried, Nancy (Hugh) Walter, Ted (Kim) Seifried, Stephen (Christine) Simmons, Mark (Andrea) Simmons, and Jeffrey (Jessica) Simmons; dear grandfather, great grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.
Frank was originally from St. Louis, went to St. Louis University Dental School and was in private practice in Deerfield, IL for over 40 years.
Services: Funeral at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Monday, August 3, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Stray Rescue appreciated. Visitation Sunday Aug. 2nd 4 – 8 p.m.
Frank, You were a loyal and Staunch Trooper. We wish you, “Fair Winds and Following Seas”
I was blessed to get to know Frank and Bonnie over the last 16 months.
Their love for one another was truly palpable. I always looked forward to seeing both of them. Frank’s sense of humor and his smile always made my day when I visited.
The Refrain from “Eagles Wings” sums up our prayer:
“And he will raise you up on Eagles’ Wings; Bear you on the breath of dawn: Make you to shine like the sun; and Hold you in the palm of His hand.”

Dear Dad
You will be greatly missed. You were such a positive person, always quick with a joke and a laugh, and with an amazing memory for all kinds of wonderful stories and history…including stories and details about your children and significant others that only you remembered. And it was your love for us that kept those memories alive in your mind.
And you were talented in so many ways…first and foremost as a talented and kind Dentist..but also with everything else you put your mind to…from boating to do-it-yourself projects at home. We learned a lot from you.
You had some different chapters in your life with Mom, Gerry and Bonnie…and children and grandchildren, too….and you were loved by all. And it is Bonnie who has shared the past many years of your journey of life with you….including the challenges of the last years. Bonnie has been so amazing at taking care of you and of loving you for so many years…and we love her so much! And appreciate everything she has done for you….and how wonderful she has been to us and our children as well. Our hearts go out to Bonnie as this has not been an easy time.
Dad…I will miss you so much…but I am also relieved that your suffering is now offer. While it hurts, it also brings me peace. While you have now moved on, you will live on in my memories and I will always hear your warm voice, hear your laugh, and see you with a smile on your face and twinkle in your eyes. I love you, Dad….and you will be there in my memory.

Indeed my condolences. This has been difficult and an enduring battle. Through all this though I have discovered Franks fantastic voyage. His journey is a fine example of a fulfilled life. A prodigious citizen and doctor to his community and country. Bonnie, Your frequent conversations with me are most prudent and greatly appreciated. You & Frank mean a great deal to everyone and I am certain your family & friends present are privileged to have you with them during this most heart-rending time. You are a paragon of support to my Dad and Sarah & appreciate your relationship with us. I trust you will allow us to reciprocate. We will celebrate Frank’s fantastic life even though this struggle of loss is difficult to endure. Please hang in there and allow me to extend any support I can during this time and in the future. Just remember how much your family, brother & nephew love you & treasure Franks time with you on this Earth! Much Love, your nephew Andy “Wuff”!

What an honor it has been to have both Bonnie and Frank in my life for many years. Most recently, I have had the pleasure of watching their love story unfold more personally. Even in times of confusion, Frank knew Bonnie and their love and loyalty to each other never waivered. What an incredible gift to share with the world-unconditional love. I thank you both! And Frank, may you Rest in Peace knowing you were so loved. Until we meet again…

I am so glad to have had the opportunity to meet Frank and Bonnie and spend a day with
them, I only wish I could have spent more time with them. Frank made us feel right at
home and was a fun person to be with. Frank sure set a wonderful example for those who
knew him. I have a photo of Frank waving at us from his hospital bed. i will never forget
him.
My deepest sympathy to your family. I know words are inadequate, and however kind they may be, they cannot mend your heartache. May the Lord bless you and your family, strengthen and comfort you in the days ahead, and grant you peace of mind.
I have only known Bonnie and Frank for the past seven months, but both have been a blessing in my life since day One. I learned from Bonnie and Frank how freely they share their kindness, love, and care with others.
Frank had his physical limitations in the last months, but it never stopped him from asking others if they need help, or, “Are you alright?”.
Frank always talked about Bonnie. He told everyone that she is his “sweetheart”, and that he loves her. Once Frank said, with tears in his eyes, that she (Bonnie) was “the one” all along.
Frank’s kind words and gestures, and his warm smile, touched our hearts and lives.
Frank always had a sense of humor. Once, Frank told me a short story/joke about a dentist. I do not know to this day if this was something that happened or a made-up joke. . . However, Frank thought it was funny and had to laugh about it – and so did I.
It was nice, too, to have conversations with Frank. He would still talk about different topics, like the repair or care of clocks. I thought it was interesting. It was as if Frank allowed us to have a glimpse into his life. Yes, and it was even possible to talk to Frank in the German language. I think he enjoyed speaking in German, too.
There are many things to write about Frank, his kind and loving ways, and the happiness he brought to peoples’ lives.
It has been a privilege to have known Frank. Frank was a wonderful man and he will be sorely missed.

I found your mom’s favorite poem that I had transcribed on a visit to her house on Wallace in 1971, and I thought I would read it to you:

I know I will see you soon Dad, so make sure the roses look good when I get there. I planted one of my own, and you will have to see it here in Santa Barbara and share some of your expertise.

Getting to know Frank and Bonnie was one bright spot during a difficult time in our lives. We will miss our sunroom lunches, visiting with our friends. Frank loved to make us laugh! He will be missed so much. Jeff and I extend our heartfelt sympathies to you and your family.
I was so lucky to have known Frank. He was a sweet man with a kind heart, always a gentleman, and I respected him. He was so interesting to talk to and always had a twinkle in his eye. Bonnie, I hope your tears of sorrow turn into smiles of memories. You and Frank had a very loving relationship that not may people experience in their lifetime. Always know you are not alone.
Frank had a unique and subtle sense of humor, even during the stressful times. I would like to try to engage him with that and try to take his mind off things occasionally.
During the month of November residents who were Veterans received an American Flag blanket. If it was a particularly rough day for him – I would suddenly stand “at attention”, and salute the Flag, and say something like, “Captain Seifreid, ATTEN- SHUN!” That would take his mind off his current frustration and bring a slight crooked smile, and he would salute back, and at least for the moment would bring him to a calmer state of mind.
On another occasion, he mentioned he had to use the bathroom. I rang the service button, but I knew it could be a while before assistance arrived. So I had to reach DEEP into my bag of distraction techniques. That trusty Flag blanket was draped over his bed. I mentioned how I really liked it, and asked him, “Do you know why there are 13 stripes on the flag”?
He paused his frustration and starred at me expressionless.
After I said it represented the original 13 Colonies, he paused, looked at me, and said, “Stephen, I appreciate the History Lesson, but I REALLY NEED to GO ! ”
I chuckled, and said “OK, YOU GOT ME”, and I proceeded down the hall to find some help.
RIP, Captain
When I first met Frank, it was at my Aunt Tommie’s funeral visitation. He was very kind to me at this time of grief. A few years later, my husband Michael and I visited Frank and Bonnie at their Chouteau Bluff’s home for a delightful lunch and afternoon. Again, Frank was extremely compassionate to me about my mobility issue. Michael and I send our deepest condolences to his dear wife Bonnie and their families.
I’ll always remember the great times we had on our vacations. Whether it was hiking in the jungles of Mexico, snorkeling in the ocean or just relaxing on the beach we always had so much fun. Frank was always up for an adventure which gave us opportunities to try so many new things. I am thankful for our time together and I hope I can share the same experiences with my daughter.
Goodbye, Uncle Frank. Thank you for all the memories; a special dinner when I turned 16, all the vacations at the lake, learning to water ski….And thank you for giving me such wonderful cousins! I picture you now with my mother and Aunt Gracie having fun and laughing as you did when you were all growing up together, while your mom is telling stories! Kiss everyone for me. Love, Ceci
I learned to love Frank & Bonnie, as my husband lived in the room next to Frank at the nursing home. Their love for each other was amazing.
As we both stared through the windows of our husband’s’ rooms we longed to be able to go in & just touch them. Bonnie was the most caring person for her husband & that proves what a great husband he was. I already miss Frank as I go to my husband’’s window day after day. May God bless each family member in this sad hour…and especially my friend, Bonnie.
Morning Glory, think it’ll reindeer? A silly little thing my dad used to say when I was growing up. I wish I could hear it one more time. As I drove here from Chicago yesterday (a drive I made many many times with my dad) I felt him with me. His passing brings back so many memories, some good and some bad but all of them helped shape who I am today. When I was a kid he would strap on goalie pas and let me fling pucks at him. And he was damn good despite being 50 years older. He also would watch movies with me that were wildly inappropriate. No 13 year old shoul watch Kentucky Fried Movie be that was dad. When I broke my hip playing rugby in college I refuse to give up on my semester and he came to Western Illinois to help me finish out my last 2 months. Neither of us took the easy way. He was a great father. One of his favorite stories was from when I was 5 and I say an ambulance followed by a fire truck and I turned to him and exclaimed “this is an exciting day!” Dad, I hope you have many more exciting days in heaven. I love you
