Visitation at KUTIS CITY CHAPEL 2906 Gravois Ave. on Sunday April 3 from 1:00 PM until funeral service at 4:00 PM. The interment will be private in Lake Charles Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dennis – or Uncle Dennis as he kindly allowed me to call him – was one of the kindest people on the planet. He was an entertaining conversationalist- telling some of the best and most interesting stories ever told, he was a brave military soldier enduring Vietnam, and overall just an amazing man with a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful soul. He will be sorely missed and forever loved.

I was in contact with a Dennis Maples. Im pretty sure this the same one due to the age mentioned. I dont know what happened to him but we failed to stay in touch. We were both in Co C 4bn 31st infantry with 196th Light Infantry Brigade. I recall when he left us in March or April 1968. Found out he got out of the jungle because he had a musical skill…he was not with us that long. A very likeable individual. We did communicate by phone after i found him again. Please email me to confirm that i got the right man. I tried to get him to join us at a 196th LIB reunion but it never happened.
I do have a picture of him with our unit. I think he told me he was an exterminator aka bug sprayer.
Im sorry for his loss. A very good man over there.!
