John Edward Sullentrop found his final peace on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by family. John was born on March 28, 1960 to Joseph (Russ) and Arabelle Sullentrop in Oakville, Missouri. He was one of nine children. He lived in Kimmswick, Missouri for most of his adult life and was active in his Kimmswick community as well as his parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church. John is survived by his two sons, Nathan Sullentrop and Scott Alex Sullentrop; granddaughter, Athena Sullentrop; and step-son, Santino (Alicia) Asaro. He is also survived by six sisters: Carol (John) Waide, Columbia, Illinois; Constance (Michael) Chapman, Stilwell, Kansas; Laurel (Dale) Urish, Scranton, Kansas; Patricia (Bob) Lotich, Bonita Springs, Florida; Theresa (Vince-deceased) Webb, Robertsville, Missouri; and Mary (Robert) Feikert, Crystal City, Missouri, as well as nieces, nephews and countless friends. John is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph (Russ) and Arabelle E. Sullentrop; brothers Joseph (Rusty) and William (Skip) Sullentrop, along with twin brothers, Joseph and John Sullentrop, who died at birth. John graduated from Christian Brothers College High School (1978). He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing with his close friends and family. He was the third generation owner of W.C. Sullentrop & Sons Appliance which gave him the opportunity to service and help countless customers in St. Louis and surrounding areas. He devoted time to helping the Poor Clare Sisters of St. Louis (Oakville). John was loved by all and shared his time and talent to help friends and family in a kind and generous way.
Services; Visitation and Memorial will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6020 Old Antonia Road, Imperial, Missouri, followed by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 11:00 am. A private burial will be scheduled at a later time. Donations: St. Vincent De Paul Society, St. Joseph Parish or the Monastery of St. Clare.
My parents, grandparents, myself & some of my children have been serviced by Sullentrop Appliance. Always trustworthy. ordered my appliance by phone before online existed. Always satisfied. When my wash machine was broken Russ came immediately because I had seven children. Delightful christian family. Russ’s dad helped my mom, Russ helped me, also John. John has been taking care of my sons family. He will be truly missed.
We have always used Sullentrop to fix our appliances. The only people I ever recommend . Always nice and honest . So sorry to hear of his passing

My most sincere condolences to all of Johns family, especially to his sisters, former neighbors on Greencrest Drive.
My family moved to Greencrest when I was about four years of age and John was truly my first friend and for many years, my best friend. I have so many wonderful memories of those days. As so often happens, we grew apart as we became involved in school, jobs and other relationships. However, I can honestly say that I’ve thought of John often, for no reason at all, a memory would come to mind and I’d find myself wondering what path his life took. I am so pleased, and not at all surprised, to read that family, church and service to others were first and foremost in his life.
I pray that he may rest in peace in his heavenly home and that our Lord will bring comfort to all those who will surely miss John’s presence in their lives.
We were so sorry to learn of John’s death. He repaired several of our appliances over the years. He was a kind, reputable, helpful person. He will be missed by many customers.
