Harley L. Hargis, 90, of Arnold died Jan. 22, 2016, in Pevely. Mr. Hargis was a pipefitter for the National Lead Co. and was retired from the General Motors Corvette plant. He was a member of the United Auto Workers, Christian Fellowship Church in Kentucky and White Flag Church in Oakville. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Born Oct. 8, 1925, in Buckner, Ill., he was the son of the late Millard W. and Olive Reta (Williams) Hargis.

He is survived by his wife: Julia P. (Mills) Hargis; two sons: Harley (Connie) Hargis of Hillsboro and Gary (Krystal) Hargis of Arnold; two daughters: Karen (Robert) Gallagher of Pevely and Linda (Jeff) Wright of Murphysboro, Ill.; two sisters: Mary Brown of Golden Shores, Ariz. and Ledora Parrilli of Buckner, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Kentucky Veteran and Patriot Museum in Wickliffe, Ky..
