Known to friends and family as “Jack”, passed away on December 31, 2022
after a long battle with dementia. He was 81 years old.
John was a native and life-long St Louisan. He was born on November 12, 1941 to father
Thomas Culleton and mother Genevieve (nee Wobbe) Culleton. John was one of 9 children,
grew up in North County and attended O’Fallon Technical High School, graduating in 1959. He
was an Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. John met his wife Rita Kristanich in high
school, marrying in 1965, and together they raised 5 children.
John was preceded in death by his dear parents, by his beloved wife, Rita Ann Culleton, by his
great-grandchild Jordan, and siblings Leo, Mick, Eileen, and Vince. He is survived by his
daughter Debbie (Joe) Hahn, son Patrick (Kim) Culleton, daughter Amy (Shannon) McQuary,
son Christopher Culleton, son Sean (Abby) Culleton; grandchildren Taylor (Anthony) Manno,
Ashley, Zachary, Samuel, Maxwell, Lucy, Kyle, Cayden, Kyleigh, Aiden, Asher, Anna, and Jack.
John was a beloved brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend to many,
Services; Visitation on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 9am to 11am at Kutis South County
Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry Rd.) Then to St. Matthias Catholic Church (800 Buckley Rd.) for 11:30 Mass. Interment to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org,
